September 17th
From the beginning, even the tourists seemed ready to take the bull by the horns...
and optimism ran rampant.
Attendance grew drastically throughout the day.
The General Assembly: One citizen. One vote.
Everyone gets a chance to be heard.
Artists were inspired, creativity flowed.
There seemed to be media - professional and guerilla - capturing every moment.
and everywhere you looked hand-made signs depicted the spirit of the crowd.
A constant police presence was felt, including the closing off of select sections of the financial district, but the protest remained peaceful and, at the end of the day - and after several changes - they helped Occupants find a place to sleep for the night.
Though a few were arrested for wearing bandannas (a group of two or more wearing masks or bandannas is strictly prohibited), the Occupants proved they could coexist peacefully in the city.
